Today, I accepted a new position. I’ve sat in the same seat and have done the same job for more than ten years. Lately, it’s become overwhelming. I finally got the courage to wave the white flag and beg for mercy, even if that meant losing my job or taking a pay cut. After crying uncle, I was offered a new opportunity. One that allowed me to do the same thing I was doing, but more focused, less distracted. Essentially, I lost half of my responsibilities, but gained the extra time to focus on new projects, learning, expanding, exceeding expectations. I’ll be joining a new department and reporting to a new boss; someone I’ve had the pleasure of working with for many years whom I respect very much. Here’s to new beginnings….
